Promises Leaping Like Lambs

Dancing Stream

.

Here comes March, gamboling in like a newborn lamb, its promises in tow.  Watch now.  The season of birth is here, the time of new beginnings.

Out of the long darkness the light comes, pulling winter’s dreams from beneath their blanket of snow, quickening them.

Let the magic of the dance begin.  Even now, its music is hurtling down the hills.  The treetops sing it, their buds swelling to its sounds.

Now the air and waters and earth are filled with the burgeoning promises. And all things that live in them – all that moves, all that hopes, all whose dreams have been waiting for release – rejoice in the light and are glad.

The Happiness of Renewal

The Happiness of RenewalSuddenly the roadside is strewn with tiny coltsfoot, as if Mother Nature had waltzed through with a hole in her pocket, dropping bright gold coins.

Gather a few.  Spend them on some new beginnings.  That’s what they symbolize after all—the season of fresh starts.

Dig out your dream-seeds.  Plan a new garden.  Renew your goals and the promises you made to yourself about moving toward the tomorrow stars that sparkle on the edges of your mind.  Anything is possible.  Make a fresh start.

It’s the season of renewal.  Breathe in its hope and gladness.  Feel the resilience of happiness springing anew in your heart.

“I can! I can!” sing the flowers.  Despite winter’s frozen night, the sun has returned to warm the nurturing soil.  Send down some new roots.  Push up some new shoots.  The whole of nature is conspiring for the growth and blossoming of your dreams.

The Happiness of New Beginnings

In the ever-changing now, where time is a wholeness wrapping eternity’s mornings and nights within its embrace, every moment is fresh and new.

Blink your eyes and reality’s kaleidoscope has shifted.  Cells and stars have died and been born; air that filled your lungs is now dancing with your bloodstream as you take in a fresh supply.  Your fingernails have grown, and your hair.  Clouds have formed and disappeared.  A new note in the great song is floating past.

In the blink of an eye, whole new worlds can come into being.  Attitudes can change, and expectations.  What was sleeping can awaken.  What was lost can be reclaimed.  Entire possibilities can burst on the scene.  Troubles can disappear, and worries.  Hope can come rolling over the horizon.  Deserts of the heart can feel the kiss of rain.   All in the blink of an eye.

We celebrate earth’s circling round the sun just to remind ourselves and its daily twirl on its axis.  Circles and cycles; beginnings and ends.  And in our lives, we can draw the start lines where we will.  At 2:03 on a Tuesday afternoon is fine.  Or with the next blink of your eye.

Welcome, 2010!

Welcome Baby New Year!  You, with the shining potentials tumbling like confetti from your hands.  You, with thick pages of days for us to color with our laughter and our dreams.

Welcome!  We greet you with our best hopes, our vibrant visions of all we can become as your days open before us.

We fling wide our arms, Baby New Year, to embrace your fresh beginnings.   The past is gone, a dream we leave behind.  It was getting-ready time for making the most of you.  And now you’re here!

Bring on your tomorrows, with all their possibilities and chances.  We’re singing our I Can song.  We’re chanting the great I Will.  We’re beating our love drums and unfurling our spirit banners across your brand new skies.

We bring you our minds, awake and aware.  We bring you our hands, ready to create and to build and to serve.  We bring you our talents and skills, our strengths and passions.  Our highest ideals have been waiting for your days.

We celebrate you, New Year!  In you we will learn to let go of fear.  In you we will forgive all that ever got in our way.  We’re ready to write new stories now, of triumph and of joy, to dig for our truths, to unbridle our love, to let loose of all that’s unworthy of the very best of ourselves.

You shower us with hope and promise.  And we offer you all that we have to give.  Welcome, 2010.  Welcome!
