Farewell Song

White Autumn WildflowersNow, as her blazing colors wash into memory and October paints the world with muted golds and browns, let us sing in celebration of all that was and will be.  What a show it was!  What a show!

Here’s to the pastel spring, with her tender pinks and yellows, birthing babies in the meadows beneath rainbows and robins’ songs.

Here’s to the sizzling summer, all lush and languid, relentlessly growing and green.

Oh, how the seasons roll, my love.  How the seasons roll.

Here’s to the brief and brilliant autumn, to the harvest moon and crimson trees.

Here’s to all the golden hours and starry nights, and here’s to the coming showers of crystalline snow.

Let us sing our glad thanks that we walk among such beauty, love, as we watch the precious seasons roll.
