Life: The Movie
It’s not all butterflies and sunbeams. Sometimes sorrow flows into our lives. Sometimes we taste pain, loss, grief.
Night falls. Rain streaks our windows and our cheeks. Sometimes we grow weary, know fear, lose our way.
The exquisite drama we live unfolds in a sweeping juxtaposition of light and dark, stretching us, dipping us into the depths, lifting us to the heights, holding back nothing.
Zoom out. Take a far perspective. Watch it from the balcony for awhile. See yourself star through it all as the award-worthy plot unfolds.
Make room for it in your heart. Wrap yourself in compassion when the scenes turn bitter and hard. Cheer your courage when you keep on keeping on against all odds. Laugh at your foibles. Applaud your triumphs. Watch with tenderness how magnificently your character evolves.
Then say to yourself in wonder, “This is my life. This is my life.”

I’ve often joked to myself – welcome to the Bethie show. Would love to maintain that sense of humor when the drama unfolds, as in pass the popcorn.
Love this blog so much!
